As one of the three service providers for digital signature conversion directed by the Department of Education, recently, representatives from the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group’s Telecommunications Company (VNPT VinaPhone) visited and provided training for teachers and staff at Hanoi Toronto School on the implementation of digital signatures in the field of education.

In practice, Hanoi Toronto School recognizes that the education sector is undergoing a robust digital transformation, not only in teaching on digital platforms but also in the use of management software in various school activities. Especially, digital signatures are becoming increasingly prevalent. The application of digital signatures in education has brought about many opportunities and benefits for information management, data security, and optimization of administrative processes in order to support teachers and staff in reducing paperwork and become more proactive and flexible in their work.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu, the representative of the Enterprise Customer Service Department of VNPT Hanoi Business Center, shared: “Not only in education but in all sectors, using paper documents incurs costs and causes significant environmental damage, especially difficulties in document storage and preservation. When applying digital signatures in the education system, it optimizes those three factors, moving towards a more civilized education. Especially, besides the administrative benefits, with improvements in educational documents, parents find it convenient to check grades and receive notifications through online texts, streamlining administrative procedures and making them much more  easy to access.”

In the coming time, not only organizational entities in businesses but also individuals will aim to have their digital signatures due to the current affordable cost, and digital signatures are gradually becoming more popular. The Ministry of Health has implemented the first digital signatures since 2020. This year, the government has prioritized the issuance of digital signatures, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in education. Health services and education services are two essential public services and are mostly used by the people.

Mrs. Janny Bui – the Founding Principal shared: “it is the fact that teachers have to sign many documents and transcripts in a school year, if digitized, it will help teachers to save most of their time. Especially, digital transformation in education is a part of the national digital transformation plan. The program at HTS integrates both the Vietnamese and Canadian programs, so digital transformation at HTS is ahead of the other schools and is absolutely our priority. In addition, regarding concerns about the security of digital signatures and documents, we will choose the essential secure unit to protect our school staff information.”

Currently, Hanoi Toronto School is using the digital application of the ISP organization in the UK. The school will expedite the implementation of digital signatures in the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year.
