“Only 7% of Vietnamese parents understand their child’s strengths and inclinations. This eye-opening data is from Curioo’s ‘For Your Child’ campaign in Vietnam since 2021, comparing insights with parents in other Asian regions—Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and China.”

The Education Specialist, Nguyen Thi Hong Nhan, with over a decade of high-level management experience in education and training in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, shared this during our Open Day event on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Hanoi Toronto School, exploring the theme of “Unlocking Your Child’s Potential.”

Choosing the right learning environment for your child isn’t a walk in the park. Often, parents base their decisions on personal perspectives, opting for specialized classes without considering their child’s inclinations and strengths—the very foundation for guiding their learning approach. Once you figure this out, you can choose a school that lets your child freely express themselves and unlock their full potential on the journey of knowledge exploration.

Ms. Hong Nhan stresses, “Investing in and guiding a child’s education early, especially in the first 12 years of life, lets the child shape their style, unique personality, and proactive learning mindset.”

Mrs. Bui Thi Minh Nga, the principal of Hanoi Toronto School, advises, “Schools and families should understand students to find a suitable learning path. Excellent education quality and fair treatment play vital roles in shaping students’ characters. In our enrolment activities, we assess strengths and characteristics with expert input. Following that, the school collaborates with parents to discuss the child’s personality, weaknesses, strengths, personality traits, and potential—helping the child maximize their abilities in the new learning environment.”

Hanoi Toronto School hopes that after the experience day, parents have gained more insights into their child’s inclinations and strengths to choose a suitable school, build a learning path, and provide corresponding experiences to help their child maximize their potential, strengthen their strengths, and improve their weaknesses. Additionally, school tours and introductions to the curriculum, Q&A sessions with the academic director of programs contribute to providing comprehensive information to parents about HTS’s vision, mission, philosophy, and education programs.

Looking forward to seeing parents and students in our upcoming programs!
