A Day at HTS

A day at HTS begins at 7:45 AM when students begin to arrive at the security gates and swipe their security cards as part of our focus on safeguarding. Monday through Friday, students come up to the canteen and partake in an early morning snack to get them energized for the day. A multitude of studies have shown that a healthy and nutritious meal at the start of the day sets students up for success, they make their way and get ready to learn in their Homeroom classes.

Their morning consists of four periods, with a short recess in the middle. During the morning recess, students participate in a structured supervised Morning Club from 9:45 to 10:050 AM with our Health & Physical Education Specialist, Mr. Chris Leman. Then it is lunchtime, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, after which there are four more periods of learning, also segmented by a short recess and afternoon snack.
