Embarking on the journey of career exploration, our children need a guiding star. The companionship throughout their upcoming paths will somewhat shape their future sentiments, making them not wish for a chance to say, ‘If I could choose again…’

During the first 10 years of life (preschool, primary school, and early secondary school), parents cannot directly help children choose a specific field or profession. However, they can assist their children in developing a healthy self-awareness. This consciousness serves as a stepping stone to unleash their potential on the future career development journey.

To support parents in this role, we have Dr. Kimberly Howard, currently an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development at Boston University. Dr. Howard will encourage parents to nurture creativity in children:

☑️ Exploring ways parents can assist their children in using imagination and imaginative images related to recognizable career fields.
☑️ Parents will also strive to find methods to explore career fields that may not be immediately recognizable to their children.

Parents, don’t forget to register for Careers Talk 1 with ISP and Dr. Kimberly for a deeper and more detailed discussion at 7:00 pm on Thursday (January 31, 2024)!
